By now we've all seen Miley Cyrus taking a bong rip of salvia at what appears to be a 90's theme party. We see her laughing and carrying on as she trips out on this psychadelic herb. She seems to be having a good time, but Miley insiders say the teenage pop singer has become addicted to this legal high.
Salvia is a strong hallucinagen which only lasts for a few minutes after it's smoked. It is legally sold and posessed in California, but since the footage of Miley went public, some lawmakers have been pushing for a ban.
A sharp source, a member of the mysterious "Cyrus Circle of Secrecy," told Teen Jive that Miley has trouble waking up in the morning without taking several large bong hits of salvia. Her father, veteran country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, has allegedly made attempts to cut Miley off from the drug, but has been unsuccessful.
"He knows she has a serious problem. He doesn't want to see his daughter end up with long-term effects from this horrible addiction," a Miley source told Teen Jive.
It's difficult to know how frequently Miley actually smokes this powerful herb, but if insider buzz is accurate, we might be hearing more about her salvia use. Fans have responded by holding candlelight vigils across the world to raise awareness of the substance and rally support for the 18-year-old actress and singer.
